How awesome are these bean bag boards?! Students in our Woods classes built them, the Painting classes designed and painted them, and the Family and Consumer Science classes made the bean bags. It’s been so great to see everyone working together.

In our latest fashion class, creativity rolled to new heights—literally! Students took on a design challenge to craft wedding dresses entirely out of toilet paper. With no fabric, thread, or traditional tools, they had only their imagination, innovation, and a whole lot of TP. This fun, fast-paced project tested more than just design skills. It pushed students to think outside the box, work collaboratively, and make unconventional materials feel runway-ready.

🏆 Celebrating Industry Excellence! 🏆 Today in Rochester, the Southeast Service Cooperative hosted its annual Industry Partner of the Year award ceremony—an event recognizing outstanding partnerships that support student career exploration and workforce development. Among the honorees was Albert Lea’s own Lou-Rich, Inc. Lou-Rich has been a long-standing and exceptional partner with Albert Lea High School, providing students with hands-on manufacturing learning experiences, material support for the ALHS Welding Lab, and in-depth facility tours for our students that inspire future careers. As a state-approved Youth Skills Training partner, Lou-Rich plays a key role in preparing our students for success in high-demand fields. We are proud to celebrate Lou-Rich’s commitment to education, innovation, and the next generation of skilled workers! Pictured are Lou-Rich staff along with ALHS Teacher, Mr. Jeff Jenson (far right).

Today, the ALHS healthcare exploration class finished its last day at Mayo Clinic, Albert Lea. This was a huge opportunity and a phenomenal experience for our students. We are so appreciative of all of the staff at Mayo who welcomed us, made time for us, and shared their wisdom and knowledge with us. Take a good look at these faces because these soon-to-be grads are the future!
